Discover CBD of Texas – FAQ
What is CBD?
CBD stands for Cannabidiol, one of approximately 100 cannabinoids found in the Cannabis or Hemp plant.
What is the difference between Hemp and Marijuana?
It’s a common misconception that hemp and marijuana are two different species of plant. In fact, they’re
THC is one of many cannabinoids, or chemicals found in the cannabis plant. It’s the one that’s primarily responsible for the “high” associated with cannabis.
The term “hemp” is used to mean cannabis that contains 0.3 percent or less THC content by dry weight.
Legally, “marijuana” refers to cannabis that has more than 0.3 percent THC by dry weight. THC content can vary among cannabis plants. Some strains are bred to be higher in THC than others.
What is Delta 8 THC?
Delta-8-THC is nearly identical in chemical structure to the version of THC we are all familiar with in medical cannabis. The slight difference in chemical structure means intoxicating effects are diminished, however, many people described experiencing a strong, calming feeling. Delta-8-THC could be beneficial in combination with CBD, other cannabinoids, and terpenes to produce a stronger entourage effect than using any isolate, broad, or full-spectrum product alone. Based on the 2018 Farm Bill, hemp-derived cannabinoid extracts are legal– this includes Delta-8 extracted from hemp. As with all of our full-spectrum products the concentration of Delta-9 THC will not exceed 0.3% as specified in the legislation. Active CBD oil products are all manufactured using non-GMO hemp.
What is Delta 9 THC?
Delta-9-THC is a chemical in cannabis and hemp plants. It can have an intoxicating effect and may cause some side effects. The chemical formula of delta-9 is C₂₁H₃₀O₂. This is the same as delta-8, except that one of the carbon-carbon double bonds is in a different position. The majority of research on THC specifically looks at Delta-9, so it’s the most well-studied and well-known form of THC. The most abundant form of THC is delta-9, which has an intoxicating effect. In other words, delta-9 is what makes you feel high.
What is Delta 10 THC?
Delta 10 is a cannabinoid found in trace amounts in the cannabis plant. Like regular THC (Delta 9), it can get you high, but it is less potent than Delta 9. This makes it similar to Delta 8 and it is less potent than regular THC. Delta10 is commonly reported to provide energizing effects, and is often compared to strains like Sour Diesel, Pineapple Express, or Super Lemon Haze. Therefore it acts more like a sativa and gives you more creativity or perspective.
What is THC-A?
THC-A, or tetrahydrocannabinolic acid, is the naturally occurring, raw form of THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) that exists in all raw cannabis flower. It is only when the cannabinoid is heated and burns that is becomes pure Delta 9 THC, which is the same Delta 9 present abundantly in cannabis. This means that the THC’s effects, including its psychoactive capabilities and its affects on mood and pain levels, can all be derived from the THC-A flower.
THCA is not intoxicating if ingested. Chemically, it has an additional molecular carboxyl ring, which prevents it from binding to receptors in the brain responsible for feeling high.
What is THC-P?
THC-P, aka Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabiphoral, or THCP, is a cannabinoid related closely to THC and found in very low concentrations in the cannabis plant. It was discovered recently back in 2019. According to the researchers who discovered it, THCP interacts with the endocannabinoid system similarly to THC but with a far greater affinity for cannabinoid receptors. The research found that THCP binds to CB1 receptors up to 33 times more often than traditional THC, which means THCP is potentially up to 33x as potent as THC.
What is Delta 9o (D9o)?
D9o is one of the newest and hottest minor cannabinoids released that is hemp derived and adds an acetate to Delta 9 THC. When consumed, the acetate metabolizes almost right away, leaving behind only effects of real Delta 9 THC in the body. This will give some people an almost (2X) feeling of euphoria with a generous and uplifting yet smooth high. After ingesting either orally or through vape, it an take p to 20 minutes before feeling the full effects of the cannabinoid.
What is the Entourage Effect?
The entourage effect refers to the concept that a combination of cannabinoids works better together than separately. Simply put, the thesis is that combining cannabis compounds creates a different physical or psychological impact than a single compound on its own.
